The upcoming “Batman vs. Superman” movie with Ben Affleck starring as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman may have one of their first string villains if rumors are true and Joaquin Phoenix is coerced into becoming nefarious Superman nemesis Lex Luthor. Phoenix has not confirmed he has been offered the plum role – or that he would even accept if offered – but would be reprising the role made most famous by Gene Hackman if selected and accepted.
“Batman vs. Superman” is currently scheduled to be released on July 17, 2015.
